Tim grew up in Bethesda, Maryland, and after graduating from North Carolina State University with a BS in Wildlife Biology and Fishery Science, he found himself in the little Eastern Shore town of Rock Hall, Maryland. There, among other things, he immediately started working on the water as a commercial waterman. In the early 80s, he worked as a research biologist for the Maryland DNR Tidewater Administration, just prior to the moratorium on rockfish.

While working on an economic survey of the Maryland seafood industry for the DNR, Tim decided to jump into the wholesale seafood business. He started hustling fish out of the back of his pickup truck from Rock Hall to Bethesda, where he grew up. Four decades later, Tim is now "part-time" in the seafood business, having founded Congressional Seafood in 1996.

Unique Perspective

He has a very unique perspective on the Chesapeake Bay. Few people have worked as a research biologist, worked on the water on the Bay, and also bought and sold millions of pounds of fish from around the world over the last 40 years. He is a wealth of knowledge about the Chesapeake Bay and the seafood industry in general.
